Two Months …. Already?

Yep, I can’t believe it either we have been here officially two months. Sorry for not posting much lately but I feel like I don’t really do anything right now mostly cause I am waiting to get a job. But this week has had some exciting news so I thought I would share 🙂

So not only have we been here two months but I had my first job interview on our arrival anniversary 🙂 I applied for a job in the Australian’s Early Childhood sector of the government. It will be very different from what I am used to, mostly cause I will not be in a classroom for the first time years. But I felt that this is a time to try something new since we are on this adventure. This job will allow me to help them with a huge reform that they are going through that will be implemented in January of 2012. I felt very good leaving the interview knowing I answered the question to the best of my ability. So if I don’t get the job it’s because I wasn’t a good fit the the position. I knew going into the interview that I might not be a fit for the job just because I haven’t lived in Australia for long enough to know all the areas of this reform but felt it would be a good learning experience for me and who knows maybe I will get it 🙂

Also something that was very exciting for me this week is we found an amazing Mexican restaurant. So if you know me you will know that Mexican food is my favorite and I was really bummed when we were moving here to find out that Australians really don’t do Mexican. But I didn’t give up hope, I knew we could find something here. We have tried a couple places and they were OK but nothing stellar. That was until we found Blue Corn. It is a great little Mexican restaurant in St. Kilda and it is a mix between American Mexican and authentic Mexican. I was in heaven!!! It was delicious and I can’t wait to go back!

Another little touch of home, Jeff and I had a Starbucks coffee date. I love this time with my husband, we get our coffees and just sit and talk with no distractions. It is wonderful. But in Melbourne there are only 5 Starbucks left and we found the one that is not in the CBD but rather just down the street from us. It was so much fun to have our coffee date in a Starbucks 🙂

We have been having a lot of fun here and can’t wait for the adventures that are awaiting us 🙂
