Lady of Leisure to Working Woman!!!

I haven’t gotten around to update the blog about the rest of the house besides the bathroom because I GOT A JOB!!! Yes it’s true, I no longer get to sleep in and hang out around the house any more. I have a real job, waking up early and everything.

It actually has been really nice. I applied at a temp agency a couple of weeks ago on a Thursday and they called me and ask if I could come Friday for an interview and of  course I said yes. I thought this was just an interview for the temp agency but she said after about 5 minutes that one of their big clients was in need of a site secretary immediately and needed them to start on Monday, would I be interested? I said, “well I have nothing going on Monday, so yes I will take it.”

I have been at the job a couple weeks now. Its been great, I really enjoy it. It is such a different aspect to work then what I have done in the last couple of years, so that is a nice change of pace. I am working for a pretty big construction company in the city, so yes I get to go into the city everyday, it is a lot of fun!! My role is site secretary but I have really learned a lot about reading architectural drawings, aussie lingo, and most importantly where to get good lunch. On top of all the secretarial work of course.

I do miss the classroom but I am so thankful for a job and little change of pace. My heart will always be in teaching but maybe for this time in my life its not the place for me. I do hope to get into the classroom at some point in our stay down here just to see the similarities and differences of our educational systems. But I am happy where I am right now!!
